Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar temple is located along 73 Keong Saik Rd., Singapore 089167.

This temple is close to Outram Park Mrt and only a short distance away from Chinatown where you can also visit Sri Mariamman Temple and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar temple built in 1925 is a mid-sized temple compared to other temples in Singapore as is a well maintained and well-run by the Chettiars' Temple Society. This temple is very active with a constant flow of devotees. This temple’s location also renders it possible for devotees to pray in the morning before work or after offices as its located near a commercial area. This temple is open between 7.30am – 12pm and again at 5.30pm – 8.30pm in the evening.

As the name suggests the main deity for this temple is Vinayagar (Elephant god) and the temple is very much focussed on this diety solely. This temple therefore hosts the annual Vinayagar Chaturthi, which is a festival commemorating the main deity’s birthday.

You can catch this temple featured on Sinra YouTube video below. This temple is shown second in the video which is a series where we visit temples in Singapore. In this series, we visit Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, followed by Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple and Sri Mariamman Temple.
